Who is Double Eyelid Revision for?

  • Your crease is too high or looks puffy
  • Your eyes are asymmetric
  • You want your crease lowered or removed

How Double Eyelid Revision works

Revision is more complex than a first operation because scar tissue and adhesions change how the eyelid moves. Lowering a high crease requires releasing the old attachment and filling the gap with fat or tissue so it does not re-adhere.

If ptosis was missed or caused during the first surgery, it is corrected at the same time. We usually recommend waiting at least 3–6 months after the previous operation.

Our approach to Double Eyelid Revision

  1. Adhesion release

Old scar attachments are released carefully.

  2. Tissue padding

Fat or tissue is placed to stop the old line from re-forming.

  3. Ptosis check

Eye-opening strength is reassessed and corrected if needed.

Double Eyelid Revision: step by step

  1. AssessmentPrevious technique, scar and eye-opening strength are reviewed.
  2. ReleaseOld adhesions are released through the incision.
  3. RebuildA new crease is fixed and tissue placed where needed.
  4. ClosureFine stitches are removed around day 5–7.

Risks and side effects of Double Eyelid Revision

  • Longer swellingScarred eyelids usually swell more than primary ones.
  • AsymmetrySmall left–right differences can remain because the two eyes are rarely identical; minor touch-ups are occasionally needed.
  • Recurrence of the old lineOld adhesions can partly re-form.

All medical procedures carry risks. Your surgeon will review your medical history, explain the risks that apply to you and discuss alternatives before you decide.
